New Travel Photography School

Excited to announce I'm currently working on a new travel photography curriculum for US independent travel website Matador. After meeting Matador CEO Ross Borden during a highly memorable press trip adventure in the Amazon earlier this year, I agreed to join the team as Editor-At-Large - and what a great team they've turned out to be.

The editorial process is transparent and communicative and the entire team are upbeat, enthusiastic and very supportive. Built around a series of good-looking blogs that push out new content almost daily, the Network has quickly established itself as one of the largest independent travel nodes in the States.

Having recently kick-started a very popular Travel Writing School (Matador U), it was decided to follow up with a Travel Photography School - as yet unnamed - which I am putting together with the help of writer, photographer, painter and fellow Matador editor Lola Akinmade.

We're working hard to make the course accessible, fun and informative and of course excellent value for money. It's going to be geared around digital SLR (DSLR) photography, and we've got modules on things like mastering basic technical skills (apertures, shutter speeds, focusing), improving composition, learning about lighting, using filters and exploring post processing programs like Aperture and Photoshop.

We'll also have several guest photographers offering insider tips on everything from Portraiture to HDR photography.

All being well the School will launch in Spring 2010. You can sign up for more info (plus get a free guide to 15 publications that pay for travel photography and regular gratis tips and tricks) here.
